Decaffeination Methods

Decaffeination is the process of removing much of the caffeine from tea leaves so that when they are steeped the resulting brew has much less caffeine than non-decaffeinated tea.

The standard substances to decaffeinate tea are Carbon Dioxide, Ethyl Acetate, and Methylene Chloride.

For each of these decaffeination methods, Decaf Digest provides descriptions from tea companies that use them as well as a list of teas I've reviewed that have been decaffeinated using that method.
